“The Next 50 Campaign” was the most ambitious fundraising campaign ever undertaken in Northern Ontario. Launched as part of Laurentian’s 50th anniversary celebrations, “The Next 50 Campaign” set a fundraising target of $50 million to fuel the university’s growth and drive creativity, innovation, and prosperity. The campaign had exceeded its goal and raised more than $65.2 million in private gifts alone, excluding investments made by governments. Laurentian wished to celebrate this monumental achievement by publicly acknowledging all those who donated to the campaign. One aspect of this celebration was to incorporate an eight minute video highlighting key people involved.

Our concept was to create a story behind the donations. We wanted to demonstrate the impact they had on Laurentian and the greater community. We also wanted to highlight key donors and share their story as to why they felt that giving money to Laurentian University was important.

This project spanned more than seven months and involved multiple shooting locations in multiple cities and a vast number of interviews with VIP donors, professors, volunteers, and students. The video premiered at their celebration event on March 27, 2013. It now lives on their website and will be used when promoting other fundraising events.
